Tanya Howard was born in Uitenhage, South Africa and trained at The National School of the Arts in South Africa and Canada’s National Ballet School. She joined The National Ballet of Canada in 1998 and was promoted to First Soloist in 2007.

Throwback Thursday: Principal Character Artist and Assistant Ballet Mistress Lorna Geddes in 1964.
Lorna joined The National Ballet of Canada as a member of the Corps de Ballet in 1959 and performed a wide range of featured roles in the company’s repertoire before being promoted to Principal Character Artist in 2005. In 1984, Ms. Geddes was appointed Assistant Ballet Mistress with the company, a position she still holds today.

Larissa Khotchenkova was born in Moscow, Russia and trained at Canada’s National Ballet School. She joined The National Ballet of Canada as an RBC Apprentice in 2011 and joined the Corps de Ballet in 2012.

Harrison James was born in Paraparaumu, New Zealand and trained at San Francisco Ballet School’s Trainee Program and the New Zealand School of Dance. Mr. James previously danced with Royal Winnipeg Ballet and Bejart Ballet Lausanne. He joined The National Ballet of Canada as a member of the Corps de Ballet in 2013.
